It has been a while since the last time I made an entry into the farm blog. The fact is there just isn't much going on in the middle of Feburary around here.
Nana spent a week with the grandkids this month and left me quite lonely around here. I went for a lot of walks while she was away.
I had a job on the North Slope of Alaska, but it was a very short on. I was only gone for 4 days. I am scheduled to return to the site this week to help install and start up the motor.
Last Sat the neighbors had the annual winter blah party. I had never been around for any of the previous parties. It gave me a chance to see all of the neighbors and meet some new people.
This past Wednesday, at 8:20 am, I was riding the stationary bike in Jonesies Digs when the phone rang. It was the office and I was told to get off that bike and get to the airport. Well my first question was where was I suppose to go. It was an emergency breakdown in Baton Rouge, LA. I surprised myself and was on a flight at 11:30 thru Memphis and down to ExxonMobil in Baton Rouge. We worked until9:00 pm to fix the problem and get the motor/compressor back on line.
The best part of that trip was dinner that night inside the refinery. Not the most ambiance setting I have ever eaten at, but when the dinner is crawfish etoufe, you don't ask questions.
Yes it is the start of crawfish season in the south. If the south has nothing else, it has plenty of crawfish and the rest of the food in the south, if not healthy, is some of the best I have ever eaten.
Yesterday I continued with my walking and walked to Spring Valley and back. It was about an 8 mile round trip. I am getting ready to walk to Woodville for breakfast at the end of this month.
