The Fair, The Fair

On Friday all of gathered up at the farm and headed out for the St. Croix County Fair in Glenwood City. This included Katie, Kallie, Peg, Nana, Emme, Evan, Jeff, Rick, and Jonesie.
Nana and Evan led the way to the first barn which was the chicken and rabbit barn.

As you can tell Evan didn't think much of the smell of the first barn, and that thought did not improve with any of the other barns.
He was a trooper though and went with all of us thru all of the barns.

He was a very enthusiastic participant when it
came to games at the fair. He tried the "pick up
the duck" game and won a Spiderman blow up
hammer, which he proceeded to use on
everyone's behind.

Miss Em in on the Action

Miss Em had her picture taken a few times while in Wisconsin - maybe about 2000 times. If Em and E don't develop cataracts by the time they are 20 years old it will be a miracle.

All of had a very nice time with the new baby and she was never lacking attention. With a face like
that and the smiling that was always across her
lips, it was impossible not to have a good time
with her.

She was always a willing participant when someone wanted a photo of her.

Camp Wisconsin Continues

Next up was the chance to operate the boat. E and Jonesie put the trolling motor on Nana's boat on the pond and away we went. Eventually E took over the controls of the boat and gave Jonesie a ride. We an into the weeds on shore a few times but it was not anything we couldn't back out of.

We next took in Crystal Cave, a place we had never visited even though I have lived in the area all my life.
Before we went on the tour E tried his hand at panning for precious stones and was very successful.
After he was done panning he then declared that he was rich.

The Portlanders Have Come and Gone

It has been a busy nineteen days since I blogged last. We have been busy getting ready for the Portlander's visit.

But when they did arrive the week long party began. Evan and I first set up a tent in the yard so we could "camp out" for a few nights.
The next job was to set up the water slide so the kids could cool off. As the picture shows it seemed to be working well.

While E was busy sliding, Miss Em was busy
trying out the leg powered motorcycle. She
seemed
to like the water slide but liked sitting on the
trike more.

Next E has been telling me since last Thanksgiving
that he wanted to go to the tree house. It actually
is a tree stand for deer hunting but E named it
the boys club house - no girls.
We made a few visits to the tree house during
there stay in Wisconsin.

We Made It.

PDXKatie and myself have just completed 1/2 year diet coke free and tobacco free.
Congratulations pdx.
For me it is a savings of about $900 so far at the going rate for smokes.
