I Hate Those Meces To Pieces

Well, the other day I was trying to dry my socks to get ready for a job in Corpus Christi, TX. I set the timer for 50 minutes and went about my business in the yard and checked the socks when the timer went off.
To my surprise the socks were not dry and I said to myself no, no, no, I don't have time to deal with this.
So I turned the dryer on again thinking that the dryer was not heating up. Wrong, the dryer heated up but I looked outside and no air was coming out of the vent.
I opened up the first flap and saw that the vent was plugged with something and my first thought was what had I put thru the dryer to cause this much back up.

I discovered that a mouse had decided to make our dryer vent a home for wayward mice. I pulled and pulled and the pictures tell what I got out of the vent.
Not surprising, the dryer did dry the socks in fairly short order.

Mushroom Time

This is the gang working on stuffing and sealing logs this year. It is about the same people each year and this year everyone worked well together which resulted in all of us leaving at about 12:00.










This is the spawn that is used for the growing of the mushrooms.The spawn comes in a mediumof rice husks, we are told, but it seems more like regular sawdust to me.









This is the finished product and the logs are ready to be placed in the woods.
