Sorry folks no pictures. My laptop charger is DOA. A new one is ordered and expected to arrive on 9-13.
So until that happens I will update you on happenings on the farm.
Nana and Jonesie volunteered to help out a neighbor while they are vacation this week. It is to watch after his farm. His farm consists of about 80 sheep, 3 llamas, 2 mules, a bunch of Muscovy ducks, and about 30 chickens. Plus inside and outside cats.
Our job is to feed the cats then go give a treat to 3 lambs in a shed, put food out for the raccoons. Next we have to walk around and make sure no sheep have their heads caught in the fence. The next job is check on the chickens, collect, wash, and set out the eggs for sale. On Monday I collected 4 dozen eggs. They are quit expensive. He sells farm fresh eggs for one dollar. At the farmers market they sell for 3 dollars. Pictures to follow.
Today Jonesie had surgery on two teeth which didn't make him very happy. The endodontist though gave him some nice drugs to take after. He took one and slept for 2 1/2 hours.
Then it was back to the farm to catch 4 chickens that escaped the coop. They were formidable opponents but all of them were safely returned to the roost.
Now I have to leave for California on Thursday so Nana will be on her own taking care of the neighbors farm.
Tonight, when returning from the farm, I saw 4 deer coming out of our woods and into the hay field across the road. Nana said she had just seen them by the pond.
Nana works tomorrow and I am off to California.
More news to follow.
