Fall Work Winding Down

The last work in the fall is coming to an end. Jonesie finally finished the raised bed that will be for the squash and other assorted goodies next year.
The challenge was the steepness of the yard where we wanted to put the bed. On one end the difference from front to back is about 10 -12 inches. But as you can see on this end it is about 20 - 24 inches. That meant that I had to haul in 5 loads of fill before I even started to put in the top soil.
Now it needs some manure and peat moss then covered with about another 6 inches of top soil and it should be ready for planting next spring.
